A Prison Workout Routine: Bodyweight Exercises for Strength

During my recent trip to San Francisco, my wife and I visited Alcatraz, the most historic prison in the world.  As they always say, "disobey the rules and you end up in prison. You go to Alcatraz if you break the rules in prison." It doesn't matter if you are in a low-level security prison or a maximum security institution, you will have to deal with living in a tight, small space. Even though that is the case, it is still possible to do effective workouts while incarcerated...not that I would suggest turning into a criminal simply to exercise more. The idea behind the prison workout routine is to use bodyweight exercises for strength improvement, rather than utilizing gym equipment.

One of the best features of a prison workout regimen is that it can be followed in virtually any environment. If you think about it, prison comes with a lot of restrictions on what can be used and what can't, so with this routine there are no acceptable excuses. Full Body Workout Routines

Not too long ago, I made the decision to append my workout with some strength and conditioning workouts in order to get stronger.  Essentially, while my strength training routine was challenging, I wanted to push my body's limit and get that nice "HGH flush."  For me, the best way to accomplish this has been to perform a full body workout routine utilizing kickboxing, bodyweight exercises, circuit training, and plyometrics.

Why would I push myself even if I'm performing an effective strength training routine?   The answer is that I want to make sure I'm mentally and physically exhausted after each workout.  It wasn't my goal to train to failure because as you probably know you don't get denser muscle mass in this way.  This makes it a challenge to increase my heart rate and wear myself out without resorting to mucsle fatigue.

How to get the fastest results out of your 3day workout routine

There are so many people out there following a 3day workout routine week in and week out, but they are not experiencing the results the want. There are also tons of people out there who train all year through and only gain 5 to 10 pounds a year. Let’s be honest. Training in a gym is hard work, as is creating the body we want. Beginners Workout Routine

A quality beginner workout routine is something that really helps a beginning exerciser.  However, you're probably not sure whether you should be doing strength training exercises such as weightlifting routines or bodyweight routines, or whether you should just be doing cardio.   The truth of the matter is that workout routines for beginners are going to vary based on your starting level of physical fitness.

Prior to undertaking any exercise program, you have to determine what type of shape you are in (and seek your doctor's advice if needed).  Are you trying to lose a few pounds or are you obese? If you are obese, it is wise to begin with a cardio focused program until some preliminary pounds are lost.   Excess cardio can lead to muscle loss, but at this point, I think developing a healthy cardiovascular base and losing some extra weight is more important.  For someone who is not in the best of physical condition, just taking daily walks can be a great introduction to exercise.   You can elevate to a steady state cardio routine before getting to the best cardio for weight loss: a HIIT workout routine.
